Dr. Elfar is Co-founder, Head of Trauma, and Chief Plastic Surgeon at NMC. Dr. Elfar practices as a plastic, reconstructive, and burn surgeon in the state of New York and is the Director of the Clark Burn Center. Dr. Elfar is appointed as an assistant professor at SUNY Upstate Medical University and as an adjunct clinical professor at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Elfar’s passion for plastic surgery leads him to pursue plastic surgery training at Cooper University Hospital at Rowan University, New Jersey.

Dr. Elfar obtained his medical education at Suez Canal University in Egypt and completed his internship and surgical residency at the University hospital. Dr. Elfar furthered his training in the United States at the University of California Irvine where he completed research at the department of plastic surgery. Following, Dr. Elfar completed his burn and critical care fellowship at Shriners Children's Hospital for Burns and completed his surgical residency training at the Weill Cornell University Methodist Hospital in Houston Texas before pursuing his current endeavors in New York State and abroad.
