Mohid attended St Mary’s Hospital medical school, Imperial College, London, graduating in 2003. His post-graduate training in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and hepatology took place at St Mary’s, Imperial College, Royal Free, University College London, Royal Free and Royal Marsden Hospitals, and other hospitals in and around London.
Mohid spent several years in academic study at UCL Cancer Institute investigating biomarkers in neuroendocrine and other gastrointestinal cancers. This work was submitted as a thesis leading to a Doctor of Philosophy higher degree, achieving international prizes and many publications.
Mohid was appointed as a Consultant Gastroenterologist in Cardiff in 2014, is an Honorary Lecturer at Cardiff University, and has national and international roles.
Mohid is known to adopt new technology early and is involved in digital healthcare projects at local and national levels. Throughout the development of the services in South Wales, he has been an advocate for patients.
Mohid has completed clinical training in gut symptoms, endoscopy, colonoscopy, and liver diseases and developed particular expertise in the management of patients with neuroendocrine tumors, functional abdominal conditions, gastrointestinal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and gastrointestinal and nutritional effects of cancer. A particular focus of Mohid’s is on promoting good gut health including managing small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, dysbiosis, pancreatic insufficiency, and bile acid malabsorption.
