Professor Monika Janda is a Principal Research Fellow within the School of Public Health, Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation, Queensland University of Technology and co-leads ihop. Prof Janda’s research has two main aims: to improve the early detection of cancer and to provide best supportive care to patients with cancer to improve their quality of life.
Her work has a particular focus on getting people to protect their skin from the sun and to become familiar with their skin which will assist in the detection of early skin cancers. She is also working on improving information and care for patients with cancer, for example by establishing those groups of patients who are at greatest risk to experience detrimental effects of cancer treatment.
