Dr. Muhammad Azam Khan, MD, FACS, is a General Surgeon at the Arizona Institute Of Medicine And Surgery. Before joining the practice, Dr. Khan received his medical education in 1970 at the King Edward Medical University, located in Lahore, Pakistan. He went on to complete an internship at Saint John’s Riverside Hospital in Yonkers, New York, and his residency at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in The Bronx, New York.

Dr. Khan is American Board certified in surgery and critical care. He was designated as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACs) in 2012, which honors physicians who successfully prove themselves in the field of medicine. He also holds the position of emeritus staff for the institution.

Throughout his career, Dr. Khan has performed over 30,000 surgical procedures and over 250,000 medical consultations. His special interests lie in breast cancer, colon cancer, and gastrointestinal care.

Dr. Khan is a family man and has been married for over 40 years. His wife is a registered nurse who also works at the Arizona Institute of Medicine and Surgery, and his sister is a medical doctor who specializes in anesthesia and frequently works with him, as well.
