Nahla O. Merhi MD, FACOG

Dr. Nahla Merhi received her medical training from the American University of Beirut where she graduated with honors. She then completed her residency training in OB/GYN at Lutheran Medical Central in New York in 2002. Immediately after, Dr. Nahla Merhi joined a group practice in Joliet, IL.

In 2007, Dr. Merhi started Suburban Gynecology where she is dedicated specifically to Gynecology services and surgeries. Dr. Merhi has special interest in treating urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.

Dr. Merhi is proud to have 2 board certifications. The first is in General Gynecology and the second is in the sub-specialty of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery known as Urogynecology.

She offers her patients minimally invasive procedures and surgeries such as laparoscopy and state-of-the-art technologies of robotic surgery. This allows less pain and quicker recovery for her patients.

For many years, Dr. Merhi has been a Proctor for training other physicians in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Gynecologists from all over the United States come to Silver Cross Hospital and Presence St. Joseph Medical Center to observe Dr. Merhi operating using the most advanced technologies of da Vinci Surgery.
