Nate joined Amgen in 2016. He is currently a Sr. Scientist in the Attribute Sciences Department where he leads investigations to understand the physicochemical characteristics and biological impacts of protein drug molecule variants referred to as attributes. In addition, Nate has founded working groups to develop methods for analyzing the clinical impact of attributes and to perform attribute structure determination. Prior to working at Amgen, he developed a higher-throughput method for measuring the thermodynamic stability of therapeutic proteins at Bayer HealthCare in Berkeley, CA, as a Development Scientist.

Nate received his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UCLA where he was trained in structural biology, informatics and protein folding. Subsequently, he assumed NIH postdoctoral fellowship at UPenn and UCSF where he performed computational protein design and biophysical experiments.
