Neema Bakhshalian

Dr. Neema Bakhshalian is specialized in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. He earned his DDS degree in 2005, and subsequently earned his PhD degree from the Florida State University with a focus on Bone Biology. With his background in tissue engineering, he started his residency program in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at the University of Southern California in 2011.

Dr. Bakhshalian developed a new bone grafting material composed of proteins molecules in teeth. His research in this area has been published in prestigious journals and recognized in national and international meetings. He has also developed new techniques for grafting extraction sockets to simplify and improve dental implant placement following extraction.

Dr. Bakhshalian is a member of several professional organizations such as the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, and Academy of Osseointegration. He is currently teaching Periodontology full time at the University of Southern California while maintaining an evidence-based state-of-the-art practice.
