Dr. Neil B. Newman, MD, MS is an assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. In his medical training, he earned a combined MD/MS in clinical and translational sciences. After completing his residency at Vanderbilt University in Radiation Oncology he is now part of the Mays Cancer Center in the Department of Radiation Oncology.

He primarily treats patients with thoracic and gastrointestinal malignancies. He enjoys working within a multidisciplinary team in order to accomplish this. He also has developed several research interests. His research methods include spare hematologic toxicity from radiation therapy, synergism of the immune system/immunotherapy with radiation therapy, novel radiologic tracers for disease response, large database analysis, and methodological research.
