Nicholas Croucher PhD

Nicholas Croucher is a Sir Henry Dale fellow in the Bacterial Evolutionary Epidemiology group at the MRC Centre for Global Infectious Disease Analysis, near Paddington. His work focuses on the biology of multi-strain bacterial populations, primarily Streptococcus pneumoniae (the pneumococcus). Such microbes often vary extensively in characteristics such as antibiotic resistance, virulence, and expression of antigens that are potential vaccine targets. To understand this variation, his research encompasses laboratory molecular microbiology, analysis of genomic datasets, and computational modeling.
