Nicholas K. Foreman MD

Dr. Nick Foreman completed his pediatric residency at Sheffield University and completed his fellowships at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Bristol, England and at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He holds the Seebaum/Tschetter Chair of Pediatric Neuro-Oncology and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the British Society for Hematology, the Children’s Oncology Group, the Children’s Oncology Group Brain Tumor Committee, the Scientific Advisory Board of the Colorado Cancer Board, the Neuro Sciences Institute, the Royal College of Physicians (London), and the International Society of Pediatric Oncology

Dr. Foreman has a special interest in the development of clinical protocols for children with difficult-to-treat brain tumors. His lab interests concentrate on the understanding of the immunobiology of ependymoma and the development of novel glial tumor therapies. As Co-chair of the Ependymoma subcommittee of the Children’s Oncology Group, Dr. Foreman concentrated on the development of clinical and correlative biology trials, which directly led to the largest clinical trials in ependymoma. He has been a leader in the exploration of the role of BRAF V600E in brain tumors and has also co-mentored Dr. Jean Mulcahy Levy on her NIH NCI K08 award in this area. Dr. Foreman continues to be a dedicated mentor to several junior faculty members at the University of Colorado, two of whom were recently awarded NIH NCI and NIH NINDS K08 Mentored Career Development Awards.
