Prof Nicola Page is a Principal medical scientist at the National Institute for Communicable Diseases. She received her phd from the University of Limpopo Medunsa Campus. Her main research fields of interest are diarrhoeal surveillance in South Africa, the development of molecular techniques for the detection and characterization of pathogens associated with diarrhea, the monitoring of rotavirus vaccine effectiveness, molecular epidemiology of enteric viruses, evaluation of new enteric vaccine candidates, social analytics and big data and the gut microbiome.
