Dr. Nima Gharavi is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS). He is currently director of Dermatologic surgery & Mohs micrographic surgery and an Assistant Clinical Professor for the Department of Dermatology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Dr. Gharavi is a summa cum laude graduate of UCLA in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology with a specialization in Business and Administration, and received both his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He then completed his internship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, residency in dermatology at UCLA, and fellowship in procedural dermatology/Mohs micrographic surgery at UCLA.

His research interests include the molecular pathogenesis of high-risk skin cancers, wound healing, inflammation, and the aging process. He is a consultant and has served on the advisory board for several laser and cosmetic companies. He is also co-founder and serves on the board of directors of DermOQ, Inc. To date, Dr. Gharavi has published over 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts, abstracts and textbook chapters, and continues to present and teach at national and international conferences.
