Ninh T. Nguyen MD

Dr. Ninh Nguyen, a board-certified gastrointestinal surgeon, is highly experienced in minimally invasive techniques, including laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, adjustable gastric banding and Roux-en-Y bariatric surgeries.

He and his UC Irvine colleagues conducted the first study to demonstrate that diagnostic and surgical bariatric procedures performed through keyhole incisions resulted in fewer complications, less post-operative pain, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery compared to traditional open gastric bypass surgery. Dr.Nguyen is chief of Gastrointestinal Surgery for the UC Irvine School of Medicine and is regularly named among the “Best Doctors in America” a peer-reviewed list compiled by Best Doctors Inc
