Dr. Paolo Giorgio Arcidiacono is head of the BilioPancreatic Endoscopy and Ecoendoscopy Unit at the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan, where he specializes in Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy. He also collaborates with the La Madonnina Nursing Home. Within the Unit he directs about 3,000 biliopancreatic endoscopies are performed per year, of which 2,000 between Endoscopic UltraSonography (EUS) ± Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) and 700 Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatographies (ERCP).

The dr. Arcidiacono participates as Principal Investigator, international Expert and Group Leader in various research projects such as the International Cancer of the Pancreas Screening (CAPS) Consortium (John Hopkins University Project Leader) and the European Study Group on Cystic Tumors of the Pancreas (PACYFIC) (Erasm University Rotterdam Project Leader). He collaborates as an adjunct professor with the School of Specialization in Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy of the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University of Milan, he is Director of the School of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE), of the Advanced Training School of Endoscopy of the Italian Society of Digestive Endoscopy (SIED) and the School of EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound) for the Training for Excellence Program (Pentax Europe).
