Peter Bonutti, MD, is an orthopedic - reconstructive surgeon, inventor, author, professor, consultant, and entrepreneur noted for his commitment to his patients, community and specialty. Founded in 1989, with the goal of establishing a subspecialty musculoskeletal care center integrating innovative surgical techniques, clinical practice, rehabilitation, diagnostics and research in a rural community. The Bonutti Clinic and it’s science center affiliate, , Bonutti Research have grown to over 200 employees and has developed products and technologies used world-wide.
Recognized as a pioneer in Minimally Invasive Surgery, Dr. Bonutti has over 500 patents and applications. Dr. Bonutti has developed and licensed technology to major corporations including Hitachi, Medtronic, Kyphon, Covidien, US Surgical, Biomet, Arthrocare, Synthes, Zimmer/Biomet and Stryker. His innovations in Minimally Invasive Knee Arthroplasty were credited in the Annual Report for Stryker Corporation, one of the top 50 companies in the S&P 500 according to Business Week.
