Dr. Petr Ostadal was born in 1972. Since 2008 he has worked at Na Homolce Hospital as the Head of the Acute Cardiology Unit and Deputy Head of the Dept. of Cardiology. In 2004, he received his Ph.D. in the field of human physiology and pathophysiology, and in 2006 became Associate Professor of Medicine at the 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. He is a board member and treasurer of the Czech Society of Cardiology and a board member of the Czech Association of Acute Cardiology. His area of expertise includes pathological mechanisms and management of cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest (with a special focus on post-cardiac arrest syndrome), the use of mechanical circulatory support, and the management of the acute coronary syndrome.
