Dr. Paty is originally from Great Britain, UK. He attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he received his B.S.degree in Biology. He subsequently completed his medical degree at Albany Medical College. Dr. Paty completed his General Surgery residency at Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident. He also completed a NIH Post-Doctoral research fellowship in Physiology at Albany Medical College and his Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Albany Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Paty is Board Certified in both General and Vascular Surgery, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Professor at Albany Medical College. He has served as Chief of Vascular Surgery at St Peter’s Hospital and as the Medical Director of the Karmody Vascular Laboratory at Albany Medical Center.
He has longstanding history of commitment to research in the field of vascular surgery, and has completed dozens of research studies and is actively engaged in many more to further his field of study. Dr. Paty has been published in hundreds of book chapters and publications, and has conducted numerous scientific exhibits and presentations. Dr. Paty has developed many programs in surgical arenas to improve care for the past 30 years. He is well known and respected by his colleagues and patients.
