Dr. Philip Toozs-Hobson is the Director of Urogynaecology and pelvic floor medicine at the Birmingham Women's Hospital. He undertook his basic medical training at St Mary's Hospital in London. He subsequently started his specialist gynaecological training in the East Midlands before returning to London as a registrar.
He undertook a urogynaecology research fellowship and subsequent higher surgical training under the aegis of Professor Linda Cardozo at Kings College Hospital. Following this, he worked in the south Thames Deanery prior to being appointed as a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Birmingham in 2000 and was awarded his MD thesis in 2003 into changes to the female pelvis due to pregnancy and childbirth. Since 2005 Mr Toozs-Hobson has concentrated predominantly in Urogynaecology and has been the programme director of the only subspecialist training programme in urogynaecology in the West Midlands.
