Professor Pierre Blanchard is an oncologist-radiation therapist, specializing in the treatment of ENT, skin, endocrine, and genitourinary (prostate, kidney, bladder, testicle) tumors at Gustave Roussy. Since 2019, he has been director of the Gustave Roussy School of Cancer Sciences.

Professor of oncological radiotherapy at the University of Paris-Saclay, Pierre Blanchard is notably responsible for the university diploma in radiotherapy of ENT cancers and teaches in numerous training courses at Gustave Roussy and at the Faculty of Medicine of Paris-Saclay on his themes of expertise. He is also Adjunct Associate Professor at the MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston, USA).

Professor Blanchard is a member of the Head and Neck Radiotherapy Oncology Group (GORTEC), the Urogenital Tumor Study Group (GETUG), the French Society for Oncological Radiotherapy (SFRO), and clinical manager of the meta-analysis in ENT oncology.

Principal investigator of immunotherapy projects in ENT cancerology (Immune-Boost HPV), postoperative therapeutic de-escalation projects, treatment of prostate cancer oligometastases (PRESTO) or pelvic irradiation in high-risk localized prostate cancers, he is also a co-investigator of clinical research projects in cervicofacial or urological oncology. Professor Blanchard is the author of more than 150 publications.
