Raimund Dutzler joined the Department of Biochemistry in August 2003. As of September 1st, 2009, he has been promoted to Full Professor of Biochemistry.
His research group is interested in the mechanisms of transmembrane ion transport. The group takes a multidisciplinary approach combining biochemistry X-ray crystallography and electrophysiology to study the structure and function of ion channels and ion transporters.
Raimund Dutzler studied Biochemistry at the University of Vienna. He received his PhD in Biophysics from the Biozentrum of the University of Basel. Raimund Dutzler conducted his postdoctoral research at the Rockefeller University in New York.
