Raktim Kumar Ghosh MD, FACP, FASE, FACC

Dr. Raktim Kumar Ghosh, MD is a fellowship-trained cardiologist with the MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital and MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology.

Dr. Ghosh sees a wide spectrum of patients with cardiovascular conditions including coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathy, heart failure, hypertension, lipid disorders, and abnormal heart rhythms.

Dr. Ghosh has over 10 years of clinical and research experience including training in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine, clinical pharmacology, and outcomes research. He was also a chief resident in the internal medicine program. Along with seeing patients, Dr. Ghosh is also involved and interested in medical education through teaching medical students, residents, and clinical research.

Dr. Ghosh uses a team-based approach with his patients and encourages them to be involved in the decision-making process for their treatment plan.

He is a fellow member of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the American Society of Echocardiography (FASE), and the American College of Physicians (FACP). He has published numerous manuscripts in major journals including the Journal of American College of Cardiology, American Journal of Medicine, American Journal of Cardiology, and International Journal of Cardiology. Dr. Ghosh also serves as a peer reviewer for leading cardiovascular journals. His research interests are focused on cardiovascular therapeutics and cardiovascular imaging.
