Ramon C. Hermida is a Full Professor and Director of the Laboratory of Bioengineering and Chronobiology (LBC, integrated into Atlantic), an international reference center in biomedical signal processing and development of clinical studies of chronotherapy. After obtaining a degree in Telecommunications Engineering (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), he was a researcher on a scholarship from the Spanish Association Against Cancer at the School of Medicine of the University of Minnesota (USA), obtaining a Master’s degree in Pathology, Chronobiology, and Applied Statistics, and later a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering.

Ramon C. Hermida has directed more than 70 research projects in ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (development of diagnostic tests, hypertension chronotherapy); obstetrics (prevention of gestational hypertension and pre-eclampsia); pediatrics (growth, hyperlipidemia); neonatology (vascular risk, sudden death); chronoepidemiology (parasitic, communicable and infectious diseases); oncology (ovarian and bladder cancer, cervical cancer, breast cancer). He is the author of 82 book chapters and 281 articles in scientific journals. He has given 256 invited lectures and has received 92 research awards. He is currently President of the International Society for Chronobiology (ISC) and President of the Spanish Society of Chronobiology, Chronotherapy, and Vascular Risk (SECAC).
