Ramon Grimalt (Terrassa 1965), graduated in Medicine and Surgery (1989), and is a Specialist in Dermatology (1994) and Doctor of Medicine and Surgery (1995). From 2001 to 2014 he taught at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona as an Associate Professor of Dermatology. Since 2006 he is AQU Lecturer Professor and since 2008 he is ANECA Accredited Full Professor. In 2011 he joined the International University of Catalonia UIC as a Coordinator Professor of Dermatology. In June 2014, he obtained the position of Associate Professor with the position of Associate and Coordinator.
From 2004 to 2008, he has been part of the European Union expert group on the legalization of consumer products. He specifically dealt with cosmetics and hair products within the SCCP ( Scientific Committee for Consumer Products ). From November 2004 to 2008 he has been part of the Board of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona as PDI (Teaching Research Staff).
Dr. Grimalt is a regular scientific reviewer for 7 international scientific journals (British Journal of Dermatology, Ibero Latin American Cutaneous Medicine, Dermatology, European Journal of Dermatology, Actas Dermosifiliográficas, European Journal of Pediatric Dermatology, Journal European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology) and He is Associate Editor of the Dermatological Journal “Medicina cutanea Ibero Latina Americana”, and also Associate Editor of the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology.
Shows a special interest in Pediatric Dermatology, accredited by more than 60 publications in Pediatric Dermatology and by stays in centers of great prestige in this field, ie University of Illinois, USA (Prof. L. Solomon) and Università di Milano, Italy (Prof. R. Caputo). He was the secretary from 1998 to 2004 of the European Society for Pediatric Dermatology and from 2004 to 2007 he was the president, he is also a member of the Catalan Society of Pediatrics and the Spanish Group of Pediatric Dermatology. He has collaborated in different international pediatric dermatology treaties and actively participates in pediatric dermatology congresses as a visiting professor.
