Prof. Dr. Mst. Rashida Begum is an Obstetrics and Gynecology and Fertility Specialist and founder of Infertility Care and Research Centre (ICRC). She is one of the pioneers in this field in Bangladesh. She graduated in medical science in 1982 and completed a fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1994. She was awarded a Diploma and Masters's in Medical Education from the University of Dundee, the UK in 1997 and 1999 respectively. After having extensive training in infertility and ART in UK and Singapore, she started her journey with infertility management. In 2006 she completed her MSc in clinical embryology from the University of Leeds, UK. Since 2002 she has been working in this field with a high level of competency.
Till today many thousands of couples got babies from her treatment. She is a dedicated researcher as well. For best research work she received Young Scientist Award from the Asia Oceania Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (AOFOG) in 2005. She has experience performing a high volume of laparoscopic surgery, ovum picks up, ICSI, and so on. Her research interests include insulin resistance as it relates to weight and infertility problems and she completed her Ph.D. in insulin resistance in PCOS from the University of Dhaka in 2014. She has successfully implemented a number of regimens that have been extremely effective in restoring ovulation in PCOS.
