Dr. Ravin Garg was born in Troy, Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor for his undergraduate studies and was elected into both the Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi Honor societies. He earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. While at the University of Chicago, he was awarded the Humanism in Medicine Award. He returned to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor for his Internal Medicine Residency.
After residency, he was an Instructor of Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He completed his Hematology and Oncology Fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, where he served as Chief Fellow for Education and was awarded the Jesse H. Jones teaching award. He was also awarded the 2010 LBJ Fellow of the Year. Dr. Garg is an Assistant Professor of Oncology at Johns Hopkins where he works with the Oncology Fellows. He is an invited speaker at the MD Anderson Cancer Center Board Review course. He works as a Hematologist/Oncologist in a private practice group located in Annapolis, Maryland that is affiliated with Anne Arundel Hospital.
