Professor Reinhold Kreutz is the Director of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Charite - University Medicine Berlin, Germany. He specializes in Hypertension and Clinical Pharmacology.
The main research areas of Professor Kreutz's interest are clinical and experimental hypertension with a focus on the genetics of hypertensive target organ damage, clinical pharmacology of cardiovascular drugs, pharmacogenomics, drug therapy in the elderly, and drug safety.
Professor Reinhold Kreutz attended Medical School between 1980 and 1987 at the University of Mainz and Bonn. In the following years, he received his research and clinical training in Internal Medicine (focus on hypertension and kidney disease) and Clinical Pharmacology in Cologne, Bonn, Heidelberg, Boston, and Berlin.
He received the title of Associate Professor at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin in Berlin in 2010. Professor Reinhold Kreutz is current President of the European Society of Hypertension (ESH), previously he was Secretary of the Scientific Council of ESH (2017-2019). Between 2010 and 2016 he was a Member of the Management Board of the German Society of Hypertension. Since 2012 Professor Kreutz is a Member of the Ethics Committee within the Federal State of Berlin.
