Dr. Hynes is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and fellowship trained and board-certified in spine surgery. Dr. Hynes is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the American College of Spine Surgeons. He is also a member of the North American Spine Society, the Scoliosis Research Society and a diplomate of the American Board of Spine Surgeons.

After receiving his medical degree (M.D.) from Rutgers Medical School in New Jersey, Dr. Hynes completed his residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He then underwent fellowship training in spine surgery at Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Hynes is active in spinal research studies and is a key consultant for Medtronic, the world's leading spine company in the area of innovative spinal technology. His participation in several FDA-approved studies, allows him better to provide his patients access to the latest innovations and techniques in spine care. He has several inventions that are at work helping improve patient lives. In addition to his work as President and of The B.A.C.K Center, Dr. Hynes is also Director of TZEDAKA, a not for profit charity that assists low-income individuals gain access to the medical care they require.
