Dr. Kay received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and his medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at University of California Los Angeles and a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Atlanta Scottish Rite Children's Medical Center. Dr. Kay has published over 110 peer-reviewed articles and more than 15 book chapters.
He is active in several organizations including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America, American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine and the Gait and Clinical Movement Analysis Society. Dr. Kay has been the director of the Motion Analysis Laboratory since 1997 and served as the Chief of Staff at CHLA from 2009-2011.
