Dr. Kaufman specializes in urologic oncology and a wide range of other urologic conditions that include enlarged prostate, prostatitus and erectile dysfunction. A skilled urologic surgeon, he is able to offer patients many advanced, minimally invasive treatment options to address diseases of the kidney, prostate and bladder, including laparoscopic nephrectomies and robotic prostatectomies.
Dr. Kaufman is a diplomate of the American Board of Urology and currently serves as the northeast section president of the American Urological Association. He is a principal investigator on numerous clinical trials, and has more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He is an associate professor of surgery and an assistant professor of physiology and cell biology at Albany Medical College.
Dr. Kaufman received his medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C. He completed an internship in general surgery at Case Western Reserve-Integrated Hospitals in Cleveland, a residency in urologic surgery at the Duke University Medical Center, and a research fellowship at The Harvard Medical School-Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
