Ryan Cappa, MD, is a pediatric neurologist with specialized training in diagnosing and caring for children and adolescents with neuromuscular disorders. He also has experience with pediatric electromyography, muscle and nerve ultrasound, and genetic testing. Dr. Cappa received his medical degree from St. George’s University. He then completed residency training in child (pediatric) neurology at UVA. He joined the UVA faculty in 2021 after completing specialized fellowship training in pediatric neuromuscular disorders at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Cappa has additional interests in medical education. He received the Mulholland Society Teaching Award, a recognition by students who’ve been impacted by his teaching.
