Sally L. Collins is a Consultant Obstetrician subspecialising in Fetal Medicine and abnormally adherent and invasive placenta (placenta accreta spectrum disorder). Sally L. Collins graduated in Clinical Medicine from the University of Oxford and trained within the Oxford Deanery. During her training, She completed a Doctorate in Obstetric Ultrasound here in the Nuffield Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Sally L. Collins has a weekly high-risk obstetrics ante-natal clinic at the Horton Hospital in Banbury and also leads the FMU Placenta Clinic which provides a tertiary referral service to the Thames Valley region and beyond.
Sally L. Collins co-authored both national (RCOG) and international (FIGO) guidelines for the classification, diagnosis, and management of abnormally invasive placenta (AIP: now called placenta accreta spectrum, PAS) and am the lead author on the IS-AIP evidence-based guideline for intrapartum management of AIP. Sally L. Collins also working with NHS England to develop a national network for the improved management of PAS. Sally L. Collins represents the UK and is elected Vice Chair of the International Society for PAS (IS-PAS) and an elected representative to the European Placenta Group Committee.
