Samantha L. Solimeo MPH, PhD, MA

Dr. Solimeo is a medical anthropologist and investigator with CADRE and the VISN 23 Patient Aligned Care Team PACT Demonstration Laboratory, both housed at the Iowa City VA HCS. She has conducted ethnographic research on a variety of subjects including the Eden Alternative, the cultural construction of aging in Parkinson’s disease, the role of gender in men’s experiences with osteoporosis, and patient-centered medical home implementation.

She completed her PhD in Anthropology at the University of Iowa. Her research interests include Internal Medicine, Public Health, Anthropology, Geriatric Chronic Conditions, Parkinson’s Disease, Gerontology, Health Care.
