Samit D. Soni BS, MD

Samit D. Soni, MD, is a board-certified urologist with additional fellowship training and expertise in advanced robotic and laparoscopic urologic surgery. Dr. Soni utilizes robotic, laparoscopic, single-site, percutaneous, and endoscopic approaches in the treatment of benign and cancerous conditions of the kidneys, adrenal glands, ureters, prostate, bladder, and testes. He is experienced in both the standard transperitoneal approach and the advanced retroperitoneal approach for kidney, adrenal, and ureteral surgery. He has performed over 1,000 robotic and laparoscopic surgeries to date.
He also sees patients in the Baylor Comprehensive Stone Clinic in the Texas Medical Center, which provides a state-of-the-art multidisciplinary tertiary referral center for patients with complex kidney stone disease. Dr. Soni has specialized fellowship training in advanced percutaneous and endoscopic procedures for management of large and complex kidney stones.
He also routinely performs single-site laparoscopic donor nephrectomy for kidney transplantation at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center. His research interests lie in development of novel drug delivery platforms and medical devices, and applications of new technology for surgical advancement. His other interests include improving clinical efficiency and the patient experience.
