She grew up in the northeastern U.S. and went to medical school at the University of Pittsburgh. After medical school, she moved to Baltimore where she completed an emergency medicine residency and an academic emergency medicine fellowship at the University of Maryland, before joining the ranks of faculty. Her academic interests are simulation and toxicology. She moved to Austin in 2011 with the goal of participating in the new UT Austin emergency medicine residency program and was very excited to be part of the faculty here. She and her family love living in Austin and spending time at the many parks and outdoor festivals the city has to offer.
