Sean Healey, Psy.D is a licensed psychologist who practices with Allegheny Mental Health Associates, P.C. in Pittsburgh, PA. He provides psychological assessment, psychotherapy and consultative services and specializes in working with individuals who are experiencing problems with stress management, life adjustment concerns, difficulties coping with chronic illness, and anxiety and mood disorders. Dr. Healey completed his Primary Care and Clinical Psychology Internship at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center with rotations in the Family Medical Center, inpatient psychiatry (geropsychiatry, adult and child/adolescent units), and Consultation Liaison Service to a variety of specialty clinics. He utilizes and has advanced training in cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness- and acceptance-based training.
Dr. Healey is a member of the Pennsylvania Psychological Association where he serves on the Integrated Care Committee and as Chair of the Insurance Committee. He is also a member of the North American Society for the Study of Personality Disorders. Sean has written on the effectiveness of psychological interventions in the treatment of insomnia, chronic pain and weight management. He has also presented trainings on a range of topics in Ohio and Pennsylvania including CEU trainings for the Pennsylvania Psychological Association and the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Healey also has a Master’s Degree in history and, prior to beginning his graduate education in psychology, he taught history at universities and colleges in Maryland and New York.
