Serge Brand PhD

Serge Brand is a Research Psychologist at The University of Basel, Basel-Stadt, Switzerland. First, he studied Italian language science, Italian literature, sports sciences, and history, and he worked for several years as a high school teacher and interpreter at different civil and criminal courts. Next, he studied general, cognitive, and clinical psychology. The topic of the thesis (PhD) was the influence of mood and learning in dyads on individual learning and transfer performance. The topic of the habilitation was the association between sleep and psychological functioning from early childhood to early adulthood. Now, he is working at the University of Basel (Basel, Switzerland), Psychiatric Clinics, at the Faculty of Psychology, and the Department of Sport, Exercise and Health, Division of Sport Science and Psychosocial Health. Further, he is a visiting professor at the Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences (KUMS; Kermanshah, Iran), Substance Abuse Prevention Research Center, and Sleep Disorders Research Center.
