Dr. Kim is a director of the Madi Hospital, a specialized shoulder hospital in Seoul, Korea. After attending the Medical School at Kyungpook National University, Dr. Kim completed orthopaedic residency training in the Kyungpook National University Hospital. As a professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine since 1995, Dr. Kim has specialized in shoulder and sports medicine. In 1997, he was a GOTS-Asian Traveling Fellow and in 2002, he was an AOSSM Traveling Fellow. In 2005, Dr. Kim found the Madi Hospital, “the hospital for shoulder diseases,” and served as Director. He has served as President of the Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society from 2012-2013.

Dr. Kim is one of the pioneers of shoulder surgery who brought arthroscopic shoulder surgery in its earlier period of development to Korea. Dr. Kim has been impressed by Dr. Stephen J. Snyder in Van Nuys, California in 1995 and spent a year as a visiting surgeon with Stephen S. Burkhart, San Antonio, Texas in 2000.
