Shobhit Arya MD, PhD, FRCS

Dr. Shobhit Arya is a Medical Doctor in the field of General Surgery employed by the UK National Health Service (NHS). His sub-specialist interest is in coloproctology which involves the investigation and surgical treatment of diseases of the gastroenterological tract.

He completed his surgical training in the London N.E. Thames higher surgical training program, which led to the award of a Fellowship by examination of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS(Eng)) and a subsequent fellowship in Colorectal Surgery at St. Vincent's University Hospital, Dublin, Ireland. As part of his training, he has undertaken a Ph.D. and has published a number of academic peer-reviewed papers in the field of Surgery and Surgical technology. He has additionally presented a number of academic papers at multi-specialty conferences and has been the recipient of several national and international prizes.

In addition to his surgical training and practice, he is interested in the advancement of surgical technology both at the clinical and pre-clinical level and has extensive experience in investigating surgical devices at the pre-clinical stage. He is open to approaches in surgical collaboration and consultancy for topics related to the development of healthcare policy and surgical technology, particularly its research and clinical implementation.

His research interests are Surgery, General Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Surgical Technology, Medicine, Cancer, Laparoscopic Surgery, and Internal Medicine.
