Silvina Ramos has been a senior researcher in the Area of ​​Health, Economy, and Society of the Center for Studies of State and Society (CEDES) of Argentina since 1990. Currently, she works as an external advisor to the National Directorate of Sexual and Reproductive Health of the Ministry of Health of the Nation; Director of the Virtual Diploma in Health and Sexual and Reproductive Rights for Latin America (CEDES-ISALUD University); and Co-coordinator of the Observatory on Sexual and Reproductive Health of Argentina (OSSyR). Her priority lines of research have been: sexual and reproductive health and rights, maternal health, implementation of sexual and reproductive health services and policies, cancer, and social communication in health. She has coordinated national and regional multidisciplinary research teams and has extensive teaching experience in health sociology, qualitative health research, and sexual and reproductive health and rights. Her publications of hers include articles, book chapters, books, and materials for scientific dissemination and knowledge transfer. At the international level, she has been a member of the Steering Committee of the HRP Alliance and Research Capacity Strengthening of the Human Reproduction Program, the Advisory Committee on Health Research of the World Health Organization, and the Expert Advisory Panel on Health Science and Technology Policy of World Health Organization. She has also been a member of the United Nations Commission on Information and Accountability for Women's and Children's Health; She has been Vice-president of the Policy and Coordination Committee of the Special Program for Research, Development, and Training of Researchers on Human Reproduction of the World Health Organization (PCC, for its acronym in English); She has served as liaison officer for the International Consortium for Medical Abortion (ICMA); and has been a member of the executive committee of the Latin American Consortium against Unsafe Abortion (CLACAI). At the national level, she has served as coordinator of the National Sexual and Reproductive Health Program of the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina; adviser in social research at the National Cancer Institute; she has coordinated the National Health Investigation Commission of the Ministry of Health; she has been a member of the Social Sciences Committee of the FONCyT of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation; and advisor to the National Council of Women of the Presidency of the Nation, Argentina. She has also been in charge of the academic management of institutions and training programs such as the Master in Social Sciences and Health (CEDES-FLACSO) and the Diploma in Health and Sexual and Reproductive Rights (CEDES-Universidad Isalud), and she has been executive director of CEDES in four terms. She has been Scientific Secretary of the Association of Gynecology and Psychosomatic Obstetrics (AAGOP) and of the Association of Health Economics (AES). She has been a member of the Gender Equity Knowledge Network of the WHO Commission on Social Determinants of Health. She has served as an evaluator for CONICET and has been a consultant for the World Bank, IDB, Eurosocial, Ford Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, IPPF, IPAS, WHO, PAHO, UNFPA, and UNICEF.
