Dr. Sok Yan Annabelle Tay graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2007. As a medical student, she was awarded the Jane Prize in Paediatrics in 2006. She completed her residency in Otolaryngology and was accredited as a Specialist in Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) by the Singapore Medical Council and Specialist Accreditation Board in 2014. Following the completion of the surgical specialty examinations, she was admitted as a fellow to the Royal College Of Surgeons, Glasgow in 2010. He is currently working as a Pediatric Otolaryngologist at National University Hospital in Singapore. 

Dr. Tay completed her USMLE exams and received ECFMG certification in 2015. She was awarded an Academic Medicine Development Award (AMDA) in 2015 for a Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship and spent a year (2016-2017) in the renowned Texas Children’s Hospital in the United States of America as a clinical fellow in the American ENT Board Accredited Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship Program. 

She is trained in both routine and complex surgical procedures specializing in pediatric ear problems and hearing loss - such as cochlear implants, bone-anchored hearing aids, ossicular chain reconstruction, tympanomastoidectomy, endoscopic ear surgery, otoplasty, and auricular reconstruction surgery. She has been trained to perform both open and endoscopic airway reconstruction surgery (Laryngotracheal reconstruction) for children with congenital and acquired airway stenosis and disease. She also manages pediatric snoring issues, sinus and allergy disease, voice problems, dysphagia, salivation problems (Sialorrhea), and pediatric head and neck tumors. 

Dr. Tay joined the faculty in 2014. In 2015, she led the Paediatric ENT residency teaching program. She enjoys teaching and has mentored multiple medical students and residents. She has published consistently in peer-reviewed scientific journals and had presented her research in both regional and international meetings. She enjoys working on quality improvement projects to improve the care her patients receive. At the moment, she is actively involved in pediatric tracheostomy care quality improvement at NUH.
