Stephanie Marie Abel PharmD, BCPS

Dr. Abel earned a PharmD from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She completed a PGY-1 in Pharmacy Practice at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, and a PGY-2 in Pain Management and Palliative Care at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Prior to joining the UK team, she practiced as a Pain Management and Palliative Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center–James Cancer Hospital.

Dr. Abel's expertise has been requested to peer review many journal articles surrounding topics such as cannabis, pain management, and palliative care. She was appointed by Governor John Kasich to sit on the Medical Marijuana Advisory Committee for the state of Ohio due to her specialized knowledge on the subject. The Ohio State Board of Pharmacy has utilized Stephanie’s skillset in evidence-based review, summary, and recommendations to help provide unbiased information as part of the policy development process for complex aspects of the Medical Marijuana Control Program.
