Stephen Chao PT, DPT, CSCS

Dr. Stephen Chao graduated from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, and went on to serve as a paramedic before enrolling in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at NYU. He gained exposure to patient care in both hospital and outpatient clinics, including Hospital for Special Surgery, Columbia University Sport Orthopedics and Bellevue Medical Center. After graduating from NYU, he worked in the area of sport orthopedics before arriving at Memorial Sloan Kettering in 2010. Stephen served as a Senior Physical Therapist for over 5 years at Memorial Sloan Kettering, specializing in oncology rehabilitation. During this time, Stephen’s expertise was focused in the areas of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, sport orthopedics and neurological rehabilitation. He has contributed to articles and interviews related to his clinical interests in publications such as Men’s Health Magazine and Under Armour.
