Dr. Stephen P. Harden, MA, MBBS, FRCR is the Warden of the Fellowship at the RCR and has been the Medical Director for Education and Training (MDET) in Clinical Radiology since September 2019. He is a Consultant Radiologist in Southampton and his areas of special interest are cardiac and thoracic imaging.
Stephen studied medicine at the University of Cambridge and at St Thomas’ Hospital in London. He trained in Radiology in Southampton, with further specialist training in Berlin and at UCLA. As a consultant, he has a wide experience in the selection, teaching, and examining of medical undergraduates, and has had considerable experience in radiology training, having been a training program director, head of school, and a College examiner.
Stephen is committed to ensuring equality of opportunity for everyone with fair processes in training continuing into consultant practice. He is currently leading work ensuring recruitment, training, and assessments in Clinical Radiology are inclusive and he is part of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges working group assessing the EDI impact of remote exams.
