Dr. Yeh is currently a Professor and the Stanley Truhlsen Jr. Chair in Ophthalmology at the Truhlsen Eye Institute, the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is currently the Director of the Retina and Uveitis Service where is active in clinical and surgical care, research, and mentorship. Dr. Yeh leads a research team that studies infectious and noninfectious uveitis, retinal disease, and global ophthalmic health.

Within the area of infectious uveitis, Dr. Yeh has studied Ebola, herpes virus, COVID-19, and emerging infectious diseases with program work in the United States, Sierra Leone, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. While studying infectious diseases in resource-limited settings, Dr. Yeh is particularly interested in addressing vision health disparities through capacity building and infrastructure development with local eye care partners, and government and non-government stakeholders. Dr. Yeh has also been actively involved in clinical trials assessing systemic immunosuppression for uveitis, as well as local methods of drug delivery – notably, the suprachoroidal drug delivery platform for uveitic macular edema.

Dr. Yeh has authored numerous scientific articles and abstracts and presented them at national and international meetings. He currently serves on committees for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Uveitis Society, and the National Eye Institute and is a Fellow the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Fellow of the American Society of Retina Specialists. Dr. Yeh’s research is funded through the NIH, and philanthropic and industry support.

Additional affiliates and appointments include the College of Public Health, the Child Health Research Institute, the Global Center for Health Security, and the National Strategic Research Institute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Yeh remains an Adjunct Professor of the Emory University School of Medicine where he served on the faculty for 10 years.
