Dr. Sumant Lamba was Director of Coronary Interventions at First Coast Cardiovascular Institute. When he was a child in India, he paid special attention to his father’s medical practice and decided to become a doctor himself. He began his formal education at the University of Pune in Maharashtra, India. He continued his studies at Meerut Medical College, where he became the house officer for cardiology. Upon moving to the United States, Dr. Lamba enrolled at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. While at Wright State, he completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in heart failure and cardiology.
Dr. Lamba also completed a fellowship in heart failure and cardiac transplantation at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and learned about interventional cardiology at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He then served professionally at three hospitals: Good Samaritan in Dayton, the University of Kentucky in Lexington, and the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
