Dr. Surinder S. Rana is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Gastroenterology at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India. He received his medical degree from the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, and did his fellowship in gastroenterology from P.G.I.M.E.R, Chandigarh. His areas of research are pancreatic biliary disorders and therapeutic endoscopy. He has worked on various innovative endoscopic and endoscopic ultrasound methods for treating various gastrointestinal disorders with minimally invasive methods. To his credit, there are several first-time clinical and imaging features of various gastrointestinal disorders. Multiple accolades have been bestowed on him, including the Don Wilson Award by American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Postgraduate grants by the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Young Clinician Award by the World Congress of Gastroenterology, and Young Scientist Medal by the Indian National Science Academy for significant contributions in research in gastroenterology.
