Susan Franci Coetzer MBBCh

Doctor Susan, MBBCh grew up in Johannesburg. She attended the University of the Free State from 2002 to 2006. She did her internship in Potchefstroom Hospital from 2007 to 2008 and then her community service year at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in 2009. From 2010 to 2013 she did her training as a specialist physician on the Wits circuit. From 2014 to 2015 she did her sub-specialty training in geriatrics at the Helen Joseph Hospital and Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre.

Susan has been in private practice since 2016 - first, at the Wits, Donald Gordon Hospital and now recently moved to the Mayo Clinic in Constantia Kloof, Roodepoort. She is actively involved in the training of other doctors and health care providers about the needs of older people through personal lectures and the South African Geriatrics Society. She is currently vice-president of the society.
