Dr. Takashi Abe received an MS degree at Nippon Sports Science University and a PhD at Showa University School of Medicine. He has over 30 years of academic experience including professorships at the University of Tokyo, Tokyo Metropolitan University, and the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Japan. He is a very productive scholar, with more than 350 peer-reviews articles published in the most prestigious journal. He also has published 14 book chapters and is the co-editors and co-authors of a Health and Sports Science Textbook, now in its 5th edition (2020), an Improving Health-Span through Sports: Scientific Revelations on Exercise and Nutrition (2019) and Sarcopenia: Evidence and Implications for Preventive Strategies in its first edition (2013). Now, Dr. Abe was a Visiting Professor at the University of Mississippi, Department of Health, Exercise Science, and Recreation Management. He is currently working as a Visiting Professor at Juntendo University in Japan.
