Timothy Spicer, Ph.D., as a new Associate Editor. Spicer joins Editor-in-Chief Robert Campbell, Ph.D., and Associate Editors Marc Bickle, Ph.D., and Kirti Sharma, Ph.D., on the editorial leadership team. Spicer has served on the SLAS Discovery Editorial Board since 2016 and is currently serving a two-year term as Secretary for the SLAS Board of Directors. As Associate Editor, Spicer will support the Editor-in-Chief by contributing strategic counsel as well as assisting in trend analysis, planning, and follow-up. He will also serve as the Editor-in-Chief surrogate upon request, seek and secure appropriate annual additions to the Editorial Board and play an active, hands-on role in managing the review and revision process and developing annual special projects and initiatives.
An SLAS Fellow member, Spicer is the Senior Scientific Director of the Department of Molecular Medicine at Scripps Research (Jupiter, Florida, USA). In this role, he directs the development and implementation of the miniaturized screens onto automation screening systems and operates as the principal investigator for all HTS-directed Scripps Funding Proposals, which comprises over 2 million in contract revenue per year. Spicer earned his Ph.D. from the University of Queensland (Brisbane, Australia), his M.S. in microbiology at the State University of New York Health Science Albany, New York, USA, and his B.S. in biology at the State University of New York at Albany Albany, New York, USA.
