Tony Lu is the Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital and is pleased to welcome board-certified vascular surgeon Tony Lu, M.D. Lu is joining Houston Methodist Cardiovascular Surgery Associates, located in Medical Office Building 3, Suite 560 on the Houston Methodist Sugar Land campus, where he will work alongside Marvin D. Atkins Jr., M.D., Charlie Cheng, M.D., and Moritz Wyler von Ballmoos, M.D., Ph.D. Lu earned his medical degree at Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Medicine in College Station and completed his integrated vascular surgery residency at Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. He previously served as a vascular surgeon at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston as well as an assistant professor of surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.

A native Houstonian, Lu worked as a biomedical flight controller providing telehealth services alongside Johnson Space Center flight surgeons for astronauts onboard the International Space Station prior to becoming a physician. “The Heart & Vascular Center at Houston Methodist Sugar Land has long been a leader in cardiovascular care in Fort Bend, and I’m thrilled to be working with Dr. Atkins and Dr. Cheng to continue that tradition of advancement,” said Lu.
